The Pokémon Japan Championships 2024 video game tournaments and qualifiers were officially announced earlier this week through the Japanese Poké Portal News in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. All participants will be separated into divisions based on players ages:
  • Junior Division: Born after 2012
  • Senior Division: Born between 2008 and 2011
  • Master Division: Born before 2007
Three sets of qualifying rounds will be held between February and April, with the top 150 players in each division advancing to the main tournament from each qualifier.
  • PJCS2024 Qualifying Round 1: February 2nd to 5th
  • PJCS2024 Qualifying Round 2: March 1st to 4th
  • PJCS2024 Qualifying Round 3: March 29th to April 1st
The PJCS2024 Main Tournament will be held on April 21st, with the top 64 players in each division advancing to the finals, which will be held on June 1st and 2nd.

All matches in the Qualifying Rounds and Main Tournament will be Double Battles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet following the VGC Regulation F format which came into force earlier this month. The PJCS2024 Finals will be conducted under the yet to be released VGC Regulation G format.
