The Pokémon World Championships of the 2023 to 2024 Play! Pokémon season took place in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi in the USA from 16 to 18 August. The Top 8 players of each age division and type of tournament and the Top 8 Pokémon UNITE Teams have been confirmed and announced by the Pokémon Company International.
The Pokémon Europe International Championships are taking place this weekend at the enormous ExCeL Centre in London, England. Fans will be able to catch all the action via livestreams on the various official Pokémon Twitch and YouTube channels, as some of the world's most talent trainers compete in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Video Games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE to qualify for a place at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, which this year being held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Pokémon Japan Championships 2024 video game tournaments and qualifiers were officially announced earlier this week through the Japanese Poké Portal News in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The PJCS2024 is being held as a series of official online competitions for Japanese players in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
The Pokémon Latin America International Championships of the 2023 to 2024 Play! Pokémon season took place in São Paulo in Brazil from 17 to 19 November which was the first International Championships event of the season. The Top 8 players of each division have been confirmed by the Pokémon Company International. The Pokémon Regional Championships in San Antonio, Texas for the 2023-2024 season will be held between the 15th and 17th of December at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Centre, with registration opening on RK9 Labs from Wednesday 18th at 7:00pm (CDT) / Thursday October 19th at Midnight (UTC). This event will host tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Video Games (VGC), and Pokémon GO, with players competing to earn championship points towards qualifying for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii in August 2024.
Niantic has announced the Rising Shadows event for Pokémon GO which will launch a new feature called Shadow Raids when it will run from 10am on Monday 22 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time. Team GO Rocket will be taking over Gyms during this event although some Gyms not controlled by Team GO Rocket may still contain different Raids which aren't Shadow Raids. Players will not be able to use Remote Raid Passes on Shadow Raids and there will not be a team bonus adding more Premier Balls from the colour of the Gym because it should become black just like Team GO Rocket controlled PokéStops. Shadow Mewtwo will be in 5* Shadow Raids from 10am on Saturday 27 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time and a Shiny Shadow Mewtwo will be available from finishing the Shadow Raid if you are lucky. Alongside officially announcing the winners of the North American International Championships, the Pokémon Company International's Official Press Site has revealed the official Art logo for the Pokémon World Championships 2022, which will be taking place on August 18th to 21st in London at the ExCeL Centre. The Pokémon World Championships Art logo is styled in a manner reminiscent of a coat of arms. The design features the event's two mascots, Roserade and Pikachu, in British inspired outfits, as well as a highly stylised "London" that includes the three Galar region starter Pokémon. The Pokémon Company Official Press Site has made an article about the second trailer of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet that has announced further details about the trailer have been revealed. The box art legendary mascots and the box art for each game has been revealed. The legendary Pokémon are Koraidon, which is on the cover of Scarlet, and Miraidon, which is on the cover of Violet, and they can be seen side by side in the designs for the box art as shown to the right. The games are advertised to become the first open-world RPGs of the Pokémon main series games. Players will be able to travel across various location of the region with up to four players in total. Fletchling has been announced to be the featured Pokémon for the March 2021 Pokémon GO Community Day event. This Community Day event will be held on 6 March from 11am to 5pm in all time zones. During the time period of the event Fletchling will be appearing more frequently in the wild and will be more likely to be encountered as a Shiny Pokémon. The Pokémon Players Cup II online tournaments for VGC and TCG have been announced to take place from September to December 2020. There will be no Pokkén Tournament DX tournament for the Pokémon Players Cup II. Players who participate in the first qualifying events for VGC and TCG can become eligible to compete in the Region Qualifiers by earning a high enough rank at the end of the first qualifying competitions. Pokémon TCG players will need to take part in tournaments during the qualifying period on the Pokémon TCG Online application. Players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and Player ID by September 21 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and need to have logged in to the Pokémon TCG Online application before that date to take part.
