The first volume of Pokémon Adventures: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is scheduled to be available as part of Free Comic Book Day 2024, which will be held Saturday, May 4th. The event, hosted by indie comic shops across North America, offers visitors a variety of free comics and manga and is celebrated “as a way to get customers to visit the comic shops in their local community.” Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is offered as Gold sponsor title, meaning every shop that is participating in Free Comic Book Day will have them available, though quantities of popular titles like Pokémon are often limited. Customers can find a local participating shop on Free Comic Book Day’s website.

The manga volume, which usually

retails for $11.99 USD, will be bundled with a Splatoon 3 comic and is inspired - as the name suggests - by the events of the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. It is authored by Hidenori Kusaka, who has written the entire Pokémon Adventures series since its debut in 1997, and is illustrated by Satoshi Yamamoto, who has been involved in the series since Volume 10 in 2001. This volume of Pokémon Adventures: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is new as of January 9th of this year and is independent from the first Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire arc. Pokémon manga and its English-language publisher, VIZ media, are fairly new to Free Comic Book Day, which has been held every year since 2002. Pokémon was first featured as a Gold sponsor title for the event in 2015.
