The latest big ticket Holowear to be added to Pokémon UNITE is a new Checkered Style Holowear outfit for the Intertwining Pokémon Sylveon. This holowear can be purchased from the in-game Zirco Trading shop for 1200 Gems. With the prices of Pokémon UNITE's premium currency, this works out to a real world price of slightly under $20 USD.
In an announcement that should come as no surprise to anyone who's paid attention to the sudden change of music in the in-game lobby over the past week, a range of Halloween themed tricks and treats will coming to Pokémon UNITE this Wednesday, October 20. The Halloween Festival is the first in-game event in Pokémon UNITE, and features new ways to play, new holowear, and new customization options for trainers.

In a day where Niantic has managed to anger and frustrate a significant and vocal portion of the Pokémon GO player base, they can at least be thankful that they weren't the only company thinking now was the appropriate time to go "hold my beer" with a poorly considered statement. Showing a shocking lack of awareness of internet memes for a social media manager, not to mention common sense and empathy, the official Twitter account of Pokémon UNITE developers TiMi Studios earlier today apparently decided that, instead of giving the simple and obvious response to a request to say "gay rights", that they'd instead like to turn themselves into even more of a public pariah than the monitization model of Pokémon UNITE already had.

If you haven’t been following much (or really, any) Pokémon news of late, Pokémon UNITE is a new Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game brought to us by Tencent, currently available on Switch and, come September, iOS and Android devices - crucially, it’s also free to download and play. The nature of a Free to Play (FtP) game, with constantly evolving features and varying levels of content depending on what you’re prepared to pay, makes it difficult to provide a conventional, comprehensive review of Pokémon UNITE, so instead we’re going to share our first impressions on the title. Later down the line we’ll be checking in to see how the health of the game is holding up, how well new content has been received and whether or not the balance between free and paid content feels egregious - many FtP games have boasted a strong start, only to be later hobbled by irritating economies.
