The Pokémon Don't Catch'em All Exclusive Kanto Edition charity event is now live. It is the latest of Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta's side-events, wherein participants will each receive six random Pokémon families from the Kanto region and must play through the game using only them. The Generation 1 games, FireRed/LeafGreen, and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee are all supported in the challenge.

Gamers for Hope will be hosting the latest installment of their Gamers Against Cancer marathon this weekend from March 14th to March 16th. The event will be raising money for the Stand Up 2 Cancer Foundation. A blindfolded speedrun of Pokémon Red is scheduled for the final day of the event, which can be watched from their group's official Twitch channel.

Pokémon Local Acts has announced that there will be seven new Poké Lids featuring Oshawott installed in Mie Prefecture in the coming weeks. With the addition of these seven, all of the twenty-nine cities and towns in the prefecture will have their own Poké Lid. Poké Lids are donations from The Pokémon Company to prefectures, and along with events and merchandise hosted by Pokémon Local Acts, are intended to encourage tourism to various areas of Japan.

The Pokémon Company International will be airing a three episode docuseries, Road to Worlds: Pokémon Video Game Championships, on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. Episodes will be uploaded weekly on Fridays at 2:00pm Pacific Standard/Daylight Time, starting on March 7, 2025.

The latest side-event in the Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta is set to go live from mid-March to mid-April. Entitled "Pokémon Don't Catch'em All Exclusive Kanto Edition," this side-event will focus on Pokémon games set in the Kanto region: the Generation 1 games, FireRed/LeafGreen, and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

In the early morning of March 2nd, a passenger train themed after Dragonite, which was traveling on the Katsuyama-Eiheiji Line in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, collided with a 2 meter wide boulder laying near the tracks. Fortunately, the two passengers on board the lead train car sustained no injuries, and the conductor suffered only a minor injury to his knee. The train was derailed with a broken window and damage to the exterior.

A streamer has pitted the large language module Claude 3.7 Sonnet against Pokémon Red, as a passion project in attempt to see if it is capable of beating the game. The stream began on February 25th and has since then gone viral, with thousands of people tuning in each day to see how (and if) an AI beats a video game.

Speed4 TLC has begun and will be showcasing speedruns for around twelve hours each day over this weekend. The event will be raising money for Transgender Law Center, the largest US-based transgender civil rights organization. A speedrun of Pokémon: Let's Go Eevee! will be a part of the event, which can be watched from the marathon's official Twitch channel.

SpeeDons 5 will be taking place live out of the Centre des Congrès à Lyon from February 27th to March 2nd. This speedrun marathon is raising money for Médecins Du Monde, also known as Doctors of the World, an international humanitarian organization that provides care for the most vulnerable people in the world and aims to end inequities in health care. A speedrun of Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen will be taking place at the event, which can be watched from the Twitch channel of marathon founder MisterMV.

Twitch streamer LinearC is hosting a charity marathon for herself from February 19th through to February 23rd. LinearC has recently become a single mother, and as a result has gone into a lot of debt. Her fellow speedrunners will be coming together over the next five days to raise money for her. A run of Pokémon Sword/Shield will be featured as part of the marathon, which can be watched from LinearC's Twitch channel.

February 14th marked the 20th birthday of the public launch of Bulbapedia, the world's largest Pokémon wiki!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bulbapedia, Bulbagarden is celebrating with a special fundraiser from later today until February 17th, benefiting the American Cancer Society! The Bulbagarden Catch-a-thon challenges players all around the world to catch as many Pokémon as possible in a four-day event this February 14th-17th.

SlowRunsLive will be hosting their winter 2025 Games Done Slow event online over the next four days. The event will be raising money for wünschdirwas e.V., an organization that fulfills the wishes of chronically ill children. A speedrun of Pokémon Crystal will feature in the event, which can be watched from the SlowRunsLive Twitch channel.

BacklogBoys will be performing a speedrun of Pokémon Blue as part of the event, which can be watched from his Twitch channel. If enough donations are received, he will also be doing a rental randomizer run of Pokémon Stadium.
