hellooooo hellooo people of bulbagarden !! >_< finally at long last i am making myself a blog 4 all my pokemon hcs and related ramblings because lord knows how bad i need a place 2 dump my thoughts... also this is solely gameverse + pokémas focused unless if i say otherwise which i doubt sorry !! at most you might get a spe or horizons mention but im not super into spe and still watching horizons so that's a huge might.

currently im mainly focused on kanto, johto, unova, pasio and maybe paldea since those happen to be the regions i know the most about! buuuut you might see more regions pop-up or become more prominent overtime!! also in terms of which characters i like, i usually tend to focus on protags, villains and rivals! but but occasionally i also like characters outside of these categories.

anyways anyways long ass rant aside haii helloooo !! :33 welcome 2 my pkmn ramblings section. i was gonna call it primverse but it feels a little tacky but idk... i also considered hyacinthverse purely because thats my fav flower but it isnt really relevant in any way... idk ill change the thread name eventually. anywaaaayz feel free to req hcs and comment on here btw i LOVE discussing pkmn games and hcs with other people!!! prompts and asks and such r also super welcome please feel free to interact with this whenever <3 liek i said previously i love talking about this stuff so it makes me super happy if people r interested !!

BAAHHHH sorry i forgot 2 respond to this yesterday since it was liek 3 am when i saw this >_< buuut anywayz yippeee johto rambling tiem !!! goint 2 ramble abt the protags mainly since those r probably my most developed sillies... mostly just gonna ramble abt the basics tho since i dont wanna write like waaaay too much x-x

anyyywayz ² so for ethan and kris my interp 4 them is mainly based off of this guide during gen 2 which roughly mentions how the protag got inspired by this kid from kanto who finished the pokedex and set out on their journey because of that. so this was essentially just about red and gold buut i wanted 2 apply it to kris and leaf too. which 4 my personal sanity the lgpe kantrio girl and leaf r the same person in this verse.

so basically in kris and leaf's case, evolutions has leaf being liek super duper dedicated 2 completing the pokedex and pokemas has kris being interested in research so kris is mainly super inspired by leaf because omg... intelligent researcher... i wanna be like her and collect info too...!!

meanwhile ethan is literally the epitome of those people who hype red up as this super cool legendary trainer and wants to be just like him down to appearance and even naming convention and his entire journey is essentially motivated by the desire to copy red without ever really caring much about red as a person and mostly only caring about red as a concept.
(Also he cant copy him 4 shit in terms of personality because he cannot Shut Up for the life of him
also also² ethan's the marill guy from hgss <3. have fun with ur pikablu .

meanwhile lyra...doesnt rlly care much about the kanto trio she just kind of wants 2 have fun. also the one closest 2 being the ""canon protag"" in this verse because i very much have favorites <3 her biggest inspo is kris because she's liek the only other girl her age nearby and she's all cool and collected and smart which lyra is none of those things so 2 lyra shes liek. god. lyra wants 2 be just liek her. <3

in terms of journeying lyras the one who does liek...most the stuff. kris mostly minds her own thing with research but she's super heavily involved with suicune. ethan... well he's journeying!!! hes probably having the least fun of the bunch because he focused too much on imitating red and not really enjoyment especially in contrast 2 lyra and kris who literally just do whatever they want.

when it comes 2 their relationship with silver kris is probably the most distant with him since neither of them really want 2 do anything with eachother but hes still frustrated at getting his ass kicked by her everytime they battle. kris also does Not like him he's an ass and also rude to his pokemon. i partially have them this way bc both ethan/lyra can find out liek more abt silver in hgss via the celebi event and all so hgss players tend 2 be more sympathetic but like before that point he really is just a mean ass kid 4 no reason .

lyras liek the biggest deal of the bunch in the region overall so automatically his eyes r mostly set on defeating her while lyra just thinks he's kind of funny. hes rlly mean but she just thinks it's to a point where it's kind of comical and thinks it'd be boring 2 just ignore or push him away like how One Would Do Rationally considering shes literally just doing this 4 the sillies

ethan is the only who insists on being rivals with silver the most because omg...red had a rival too...if u and i become rivals i will become More Like Red... while silver doesnt really want much to do with him At All even lesser so than with kris because at least kris is liek. respectable as a person. but because of how ethan tends 2 seek him out on purpose they interact a Lot.

i was gonna include more on liek the threes relationships with eachother BUUT i was feeling that i stretched this way too long sooo ill cut it off here 4 now. Thank u 4 requesting me i luv talking about johto... johto protags my beloved... if we get a johto game and either kris or lyra r cut out ill actually cry real tears...

Posting my hcs from the protag headcanons thread here since I wanna write about my rival hcs sometime later so I'm putting these here for reference.

Spoiler: Kanto

for kanto i actually have like... two slightly different interps for both protag red and protag leaf since im attached 2 them both buut the difference mostly comes from their relationship with blue since they both stay prominent regardless and im not rlly focusing much on the rivals here >< also this is the longest im so sorry i tone stuff down for the other regions

however im posting one (1) blue hc here because it involves leaf and thats them both being trans and swapping their names and thats where the blue/green name confusion comes from. leaf just goes by leaf to avoid said confusion.

red already has a ton of canon content compared to other protags so for him hes mostly just pieced together from canon media. also hes semiverbal autistic 2 me.
hes generally just kind of a nice kid hes the epitome of the "pleasure to have in class" type. still got impatient and tried 2 run into tall grass tho before oak picked him up by the scruff like cat. was childhood #besties with blue before blue hissed him away.

he manages to get along with pokemon super easy which helps with battling. he doesnt actually care much about battling beyond bonding with pokemon. disney princess core.
absolutely god awful at communicating and gets easily pressured and thats why he ran off to mt silver because he was both ungodly afraid of having 2 talk to blue after defeating him and also scared of the attention he was getting. mildly uncomfortable with oak for this reason because oaks favouritism of him just made him feel pressured

ANYWAYS LEAF .my interp for her is mostly based off of lgpe and evolutions i usually consider her and green as the same person since they fulfil similar roles. twins with red(leaf specifically is the older one). absolute fucking cryptic nobody can tell whats her deal. is she bullying you or is she joking around. who knows. she'll stare at you deadpan the entire time.
also very blunt. did NOT get along at all with blue as a kid unlike red because both of them r blunt and know nothing of courtesy and so they hissed at eachother like cat the entire time as kids.
very much wants to know everything ever about pokemon and takes the task of filling up the pokedex super seriously. also very competitive on this matter. her knowledge is a huge help when it comes to battling. was champion for a bit after red left up until she gets defeated by elaine

elaines the only person from the lgpe trio who i keep around at least like. prominently. in my hcs since i like her interactions with leaf sorry chase i genuinely dont have anything for you. elaines mostly just a happy go lucky type and also much less naturally gifted than red and leaf and much clumsier.
definitely did a huge blow on leafs ego upon defeating her and even Moreso when she caught mewtwo right in front of leaf. she didnt bother keeping the champion title because she didn't really feel like it's her thing and leaf never took it back because she wants to earn it and thats why lance is there in gsc/hgss instead
leaf just follows around elaine constantly trying to rebattle her. elaine cannot tell for the life of her what the fuck is up with leafs whole catching thing.

Spoiler: Johto

LORD JOHTO.... i already rambled before so ill try dumbing it down

ethan is heavily obsessed with red after hearing about him becoming champion and wants to be just like him. hes the epitome of those guys that dumb red down to cool epic strong legend. goes by gold because he thinks the naming convention is similar enough to red.
kris on the other heard of leaf completing the kanto pokedex and is inspired by her instead. wants to become a researcher but she also really enjoys battling which makes her a little unsure of what she really wants. the one who goes through the whole suicune and eusine stuff.

lyra on the other is the closest to the canon protag here. ethan is too busy trying to become red and kris mostly just focuses on her own goals. lyra does most the stuff like battling red and tr not involved with suicune or eusine tho thats kris's deal. mostly just looking to have fun she doesnt have any super particular goals but shes very much naturally gifted. and also super duper inspired by kris because omg smart intelligent cool girl my age i wanna be just like her...!!! altho she can get like a little annoying at times with how clingy she gets towards her
also ethans the guy with the marill from hgss. he carries it around on his shoulder trying to copy red and pikachu.
he tries to copy red although personality wise he fails because ethan cannot shut up for the life of him. master of yapping.

the kantrio r kind of like older sibling figures for them. ethan kind of just makes red uncomfortable at first and hes not super close with leaf but he kinda grows on them. kris looks up to both of them as strong inspirational trainers altho because of that she can kind of come off as a little strong but neither of them mind much. lyra is Very sociable so she tries to actively befriend them. leaf is super cool and also like kris and liked by kris so lyra likes her a lot and red is fun 2 hang around even if he doesnt talk...tism to tism communication. red is mildly taken aback by the constant visits because of how he hasnt talked to anyone in ages while leaf is like "ah...stupid child... ok yeah sure ill look after you for now

Spoiler: Unova 1

UNOVA RAAAH. Hildas the canon protag here and Hilberts her younger brother. She throws him at Cheren and Bianca like hi guys this is my loser brother he has no friends please be nice to him.
Hilbert is equivalent to a stupid head empty but very affectionate puppy. Hilda is a very angry puppy. Hilda is the one who deals with most of the Plasma stuff Hilbert is just there for the ride. He isnt really involved much. Hilda has feelings .SO many. She HATES plasma she thinks theyr slimy losers that wanna look good

Hildas liek. Very headstrong in comparison to Hilbert which is why she tends 2 Get Involved with Situations Tm more often and also thus has much more strong opinions on plasma and n while hilbert just kinda stands there going ah...eto...blehhhh x3
She barks at N everytime while N is just "quit ur challenge befriend this emo dragon".the entire ferris wheel ride was horrid vibes because she was just death glaring him while he was trying 2 do his #epic reveal. Hilbert meanwhile doesnt mind N. His Lillipup likes N and he trusts his funny dog. N also doesnt mind Hilbert because he seems too head empty to ever mean any harm hes just the epitome of some guy

N farewell Hilda goes out 2 find him because DUDE WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOURE JUST LEAVING AFTER ALL THAT GET BACK HERE ?????????meanwhile hilbert leaves 2 go look 4 his sister instead while bianca and cheren r just left 2 stand there like uh.ok. what do we Do Now
Her leaving Unova is actually like. A mix of a bunch of things instead of Just N. Liek she both wants to find N but also in part doesnt want to and in turn just wanders kind of aimlessly.
Because liek. So much stuff happened she has absolutely zero idea on what 2 do and she wants proper answers as 2 what the hell shes even meant 2 be feeling anymore but she knows that finding n isnt gonna be a magical solution but hes liek. The Source of where her Problems Tm started so she wants someone 2 blame while also knowing he was in a similar situation 2 her

Nates just there. He does not care about this stuff. Hugh rants 2 him and hes just liek ummm what r we talking about o^o? hugh and rosa stare in horror wondering how the fuck he has zero idea about the plasma bullshit. Also he and rosa r twins
Rosa is again the canon protag altho Nate is like slightly more involved this time purely because of Hugh being here and grabbing him by the scruff like hey. Defeat team plasma with me NOW.

Rosa is!!!fairly famous when it comes to pokestar studio shes already super into the entertainment industry so she was more than happy to join. Tries to drag in Nate altho he isnt really that involved due to how clueless he is. His reputation is solely just oh. Rosa brother.
Rosas kinda similar to Lyra in that she isnt really taking stuff super seriously shes just kinda here to have fun. Nate also isnt taking stuff super seriously. The joy and whimsy brothers

also theyr swapped for the yancy curtis stuff here. rosa is nancy fan #1 and yancy stresses out the entire time like what will happen 2 our friendship if she finds out im actually nancy...siiighhh...
curtis worries the same thing with nate but meanwhile nate has never heard of christoph in his life he doesnt even know what an idol is

Spoiler: Paldea

I dont have that many developed hcs for paldea but im including them still. juli and flori kinda share the role altho if i had to say juli is the one closer to being protag. theyre just going around doing their own thing. Theyr twins yet again. Sorry.this is a pattern that will keep going. Juli is definitely a lot more involved with others so Florian is kind of just daaawww our julis baby bwother to the paldea friend group (literally only a few seconds younger. juli didnt even mean to or want to befriend anyone yet everyone grabbed her by the scruff like hmm you can fix us. while florian joins along occasionally to help her out mainly with the titans and sometimes with team star. especially the titans hes a lot more involved with that than star but he still helps juli with defeating the squads sometimes

juli is so socially awkward. absolute girlfail. however everyone is captivated with her girlfail charms. florian is not much better. he tries being smart and fails and it makes him look like even more of a failure. both of them r champion rank trainers !!!altho juli is the stronger of the two and also a lot more determined when it comes to battling. florian...doesnt rlly care hes just there for the sake of it. theyr probably the friendliest to eachother out of all the protags right off the bat excluding bettie and scottie. they r Friends.

Spoiler: Pasio

including scottie and bettie because i luv the pokemas characters so very much... bettie is the canon protag but theres So many events in pokemas so scottie has his time too. you know how i called a few trainers naturally gifted. Yeah these two are the Epitome of that especially bettie
Everyone loves them human or pokemon. Bettie especially is ungodly powerful for some reason when it comes to battling. Scottie isnt as talented in battling but still has the inexplicable irresistible friendship charm . Which helps out considering the group batting style on pasio
And yet. Despite this all. they both are So head empty... theyr just little guys in a big world that wanna make friends

they constantly manage to get into trouble but also get out of said trouble on their own. incredibly friendly to literally everyone. they will befriend you and you have absolutely no choice in this matter. they somehow get involved in extremely personal family disputes without even meaning to.
they literally have like. everyone on pasio on speed dial for group battles. a bug catcher will challenge them and theyll phone like... volo of all people like haiii my new and very trustworthy bestie ^-^ wanna join my group 4 this battle !!!and everytime somehow the answer is yes.
