TINA's Nuzlocke Series

Time to make my way into the Road of Victory. This version of Victory Road seems to lead me through some ancient ruins rather than a cave. There are even outside sections to this place. In one of those sections, i manage to catch an Altaria, which i shall nickname Cloudwing. When i reach the end however, i find that Remco has also successfully obtained all of the region's badges, and he wishes to challenge me to see who of us should be taking on the Pokemon League. He leads with Unfezant and i lead with Jonathan. He mises his Swagger, which means my Rock Slide just brings him to the yellow. His second Swagger hits, but Jonathan powers through the confusion and gets the kill. Next is Bouffalant, so i switch to Horny. Close Combat misses out on the OHKO, meaning Horny has to tank a Head Charge at -1 Defense. Which he does with 13 HP remaining like an absolute madlad, and to make it even better, the Bouffalant kills itself with recoil. Up third is Remco's ace, his Samurott. This job shall go to Marina, who resists everything it can throw at me. Remco does decide to waste his Max Potion on this mon, but eventually Energy Ball gets the kill. Last but least is Simisage, so i send out Gortwog to kill the thing. Victory is mine once again.

When i finally lay my eyes on the Pokemon League building once more, i decide i should call it a day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Jonathan (Excadrill) lv 56
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 56
Keese (Crobat) lv 56
Marina (Jellicent) lv 57
Gortwog (Emboar) lv 56
Horny (Heracross) lv 56

The time has come. The time to test myself against the strongest trainers New York has to offer. As i step into the pokemon league building, i see four paths ahead of me, each leading to a different member of the Elite Four. I opt to first make my way to Grimsley, the dark type user. He leads with Liepard and i lead with Jonathan. He hits me with some weak moves, but Earthquake easily kills. Second is Krookodile, so i switch to a pre-poisoned Horny. Intimidate is bad, but i have Guts so it should be fine. I get him to the red with Brick Break, but Grimsley heals. No matter though, i get him right back to the red again, then i kill him. My third opponent is Bisharp, a task i give to Gortwog. As expected, he folds to a single fighting move. Last but not least, i'm facing Scrafty, so Gortwog stays in. A critical hit brings me to the red, but i hang on and manage to get the kill. One down.

My second opponent will be the fighting trainer, marshal. He leads with his Throh and i lead with Keese. Contrary to my expectations, Acrobatics just brings him to the red rather than killing, so he gets a rock throw off. He just wastes his healing item here though, and since i still outspeed, i easily kill the turn thereafter. Second is Conkeldurr, for which i'm switching to Marina. He misses three consecutive Stone Edges as i kill him while still at full health. Third is Sawk and i stay in so that he can't pull of a boosted Retaliate. I then switch to Gortwog on a Payback. Gortwog tanks a nasty Brick Break, but hits Sawk down to half in return. I switch back to Keese on another Brick Break, then an Acrobatics gets the kill. Last is Mienshao, so i switch to Jonathan. I immediately switch to Marina on a High Jump Kick, bringing him down to half. He wastes some time with Bounce, but a single Surf seals the deal. Two down.

For my third opponent, i pick the ghost user Shauntal. She starts off with her Cofagrigus and i lead with Marina. We exchange Shadow Balls, with mine bringing her to the red and hers bringing me to almost half. I outspeed, so it's safe to stay in; Shauntal heals here, so i can safely bring her HP down again and get the kill. Second is Drifblim, for which i switch to Jonathan. Her Shadow Ball barely scratches me, while my Rock Slide brings her to the red. I wish i could finish it with something more accurate, but Rock Slide is my only move that affects her, so i use it to get the kill. In response to this, Shauntal opts for her ace, Chandelure. Now's Dragonfly's time to shine. Earth Power brings her down to her berry as Shadow Ball knocks me into the yellow, but i outspeed so i can easily finish it off. Last is Golurk, so i switch to a still pre-poisoned Horny. Shadow Claw brings him to the yellow as Shadow Punch, combined with the poison, does the same to me. However, because i outspeed, i get the kill and the win. Three down.

The fourth and final member of the elite four is Caitlyn, the psychic user. She leads with Musharna and i lead with Dragonfly. I don't deal a lot of damage, but the only way she can hurt either Dragonfly or Jonathan is with Dream Eater, so i just switch every time she yawns. Once she is out of Yawn PP, i whittle her down enough to get Caitlyn to waste her full restore, then i again bring her health down for the kill. She does like to set up reflect, and a critical hit means i can't switch around before the kill to ensure it is down. So there's still a reflect up when Sigilyph comes out and i send out Jonathan. We exchange hits, but her second ice beam crits and brings me to the red as my second rock slide brings her to the yellow. I opt to switch Marina on on what i thought would be an Ice Beam, but it is instead a Shadow Ball that lowers my Special Defense. So i immediately switch to Keese on another Shadow Ball and hit an Acrobatics for the kill. This prompts Caitlyn to send out her ace, Gothitelle. I opt for a risky strategy here and send out Horny, whose first Megahorn misses as Gothitelle sets up Calm Mind. The second one hits though, even getting a crit for the overkill. Caitlyn's last pokemon is her Reuniclus, which is another job for Dragonfly. However, contrary to my expectations, i do less than half to her while she brings me right into the yellow. I decide the safest option is to switch to Marina on a psychic, and then to heal. Energy Ball does just under half to me, so i'm at risk as i bring him to a sliver, but he opts to recover rather than attack. My shadow balls do over half, so the next one kills.

With the elite four defeated, only one challenge remains: the champion. I make my way back to the central room, then down the elevator and up the stairs to the champion's room. To my surprise, it is not Alder i find there, but Iris, the former gym leader of Opelucid City. Weexchange pleasantries and i congratulate her on becoming champ, but now it's time to take that title from her. She leads with her Hydreigon and i lead with Keese. A flying gem-boosted Acrobatics unfortunately only brings her to the yellow as she does almost half to Keese, but a second Acrobatics gets the kill. Next up is Lapras, so i switch to a still poisoned Horny. A single guts-boosted Close Combat gets the kill, so Iris now goes for her Archeops. This is of course a job for Marina, but she gets brought down to half by a Rock Slide that also flinches. This leaves me with no choice but to bring in Jonathan, who shrugs off a rock slide, but Acrobatics brings me to half as i retaliate with a Rock Slide of my own. I'm not at risk due to Defeatist, and Iris uses her full restore, but a crit Rock Slide gets the kill anyway. Druddigon's my next opponent, and i opt for Dragonfly, who brings the beast to the yellow as he opts for a Rock Slide. No idea why he chose a resisted move rather than the supereffective Dragon Tail, but whatever. Another Dragon Claw gets the kill. Iris's fifth pokemon is an Aggron, and i decide that Horny is the man for the job. Sure enough, a 4x effective Guts-boosted STAB Close Combat gets the one-shot. Last but certainly not least is Iris's ace, Haxorus. This thing is very dangerous, and none of my mons are really effective against it. I opt to send out Dragonfly, whoto my surprise does not outspeed, but she does dodge the incoming Dual Chop as she brings the beast to the yellow. I opt to bring Jonathan in on another Dual Chop, but due to a crit he survives with just 2 HP remaining. Haxorus outpseeds though, and gets the kill with an Earthquake. Really should have checked their speed stats before assuming Excadrill was faster. Anyway, i switch to Keese, who actually is faster, and kill the beast with an Acrobatics. And with that, I'm now once again the champion of New York.

Jonathan's sacrifice will not be forgotten. As i walk into the Hall of Fame once more, i register all my partners who got me this far. Jonathan of course will be included; we will not forget his performance against Skyla and Drayden, nor how he slew the fused Kyurem and annihilated Colress's team. Not to mention his performance against the elite four. Rest in peace, my good friend, you will be dearly missed.

The morning after the celebrations, i get a visit from Cedric Juniper. To commemorate my victory over the league, he grants me a National Pokedex, so that i may now gather data on mons from outside New York. Yeah, not gonna do that. When i step outside though, Remco and his little sister await me there. The little girl wishes to personally thank me for my help in retrieving her stolen Purrloin/Liepard, but she also wishes to tell me about her disturbing dreams about a Zoroark. Apparently, there's a Zoroark in Victory Road that's waiting for someone. Maybe i'll check that out, but for now, i'm calling it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Keese (Crobat) lv 58
Horny (Heracross) lv 58
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 58
Marina (Jellicent) lv 58
Gortwog (Emboar) lv 57

I don't think i'm going to check out the Zoroark right now; it's probably just a dream. Rather, i think i'm going to spend some time on a trip down memory lane, revisiting some of the sites i saw when i first traveled this region. So i bring Abby the Absol into my party and give her the Exp Share, then i fly to Opelucid and head west over the Tubeline Bridge. On the other side, i find the marshes of Route 8, but it's raining so i can't enjoy the nature here properly. I do catch a Stunfisk, which i name Plat. However, on this route, i encounter a trainer who challenges me to a rotation battle with her three Castform. One of these castforms gets off a crit Weather Ball, sending my dear sweet Horny to a watery grave. Rest well Horny, you did great against the league.

Our team will be joined by Moon Stone the Lunatone. With two new guys on my team, we should probably hold a training session. I train them up to the level of my other guys, then i decide to call it a day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Abby (Absol) lv 57
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 58
Marina (Jellicent) lv 59
Keese (Crobat) lv 58
Moon Stone (Lunatone) lv 57
Gortwog (Emboar) lv 57

With my training done, i head back to Route 8, but things again go horribly wrong. In a triple battle, i get stuck between a rock and a hard place, and i have to leave Marina out against a Jolteon and a Castform, who proceed to double up on her with Thunder. She of course does not live these two supereffective hits; once again it is that bastard Castform who has killed one of my pokemon. Rest in peace Marina, you did great against Marlon. We'll miss you.

Joining us in Marina's place is Manfred the Mantyke. To ease him into joining the team, i opt to catch a Remoraid who will join us at the same time. This friendship between the two causes Manfred to quickly evolve into Mantine, but i then take a look at the Remoraid and realise it's ugly, so i release it immediately. This pisses Manfred off so much that he refuses to continue the training session, so i guess he'll just have to hold the Exp Share as i progress further through Route 8. I manage to clear out the route, then i take shelter in the Moor of Icirrus to get away from the rain. Yeah, apparently weather patterns in New York are so localized that you can just step out of the rain by going into an adjacent area. However, while i'm wading through this marsh, a wild Palpitoad suddenly attacks me. I throw out an Ultra Ball in self-defense, and nickname my new pokemon Palworld.

This swampscape can be interesting if you like such environment, but i personally don't really appreciate the smell, so eventually i just opt to brave the rain and head on to Icirrus City. The main sight to see here is the now-defunct gym, so i head in there and complete the ice sliding puzzle just for fun. I actually meet the now-famous actor Brycen here, but since he is no longer a gym leader, there is no reason for us to do battle. Instead, we both just head off.

They seem to have cleared up the cave-in in Twist Mountain, so i an go mountaineering now. I encounter an Onix within these tunnels, which i catch and nickname Takeshi. In the depths of the mountain's cave system, i find a giant pokemon seemingly stuck in place. But it's ugly and it's not responding to me anyway, so i ignore it and head back up. However, it is in the rest of the caves that things again go awry. We run into a triple battle where our opponents are way higher level than I expected them to be, and Keese and Moon Stone end up going down to the Archeops and dragon dancing Gyarados. Keese, you've been with us all the way since Castelia City, and you have been invaluable in more ways than i could possibly list here. You will be greatly missed, my friend. Rest in peace. Moon Stone, you haven't been with us for long, but we still appreciate your valiant sacrifice against this Archeops. rest in peace, my friend.

We will be joined by Bach the Minccino and Not Zubat the Woobat. Rather than training them up now though, i'm calling it a day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Abby (Absol) lv 58
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 59
Gortwog (Emboar) lv 58
Manfred (Mantine) lv 50
Bach (Minccino) lv 37
Not Zubat (Woobat) lv 39

Yeah, things did not go according to plan. 3 losses in one playing session.

Impressive that the Starter has survived this long. Out of all the deaths you've had, which one would you say hit the hardest?
Keese hit really hard, but that might be recency bias. Christine was also pretty bad. I was also really gaining an appreciation for Galvantula when he suddenly lost his life.

Did you mean just this last run, or the series as a whole?

I of course use a shiny stone to evolve Bach into Cinccino immediately. However, before my training session can start in earnest, something terrible happens. While i'm searching the world for rare candies, i encounter a trainer in Lostlorn Forest with a Larvesta. I switch Manfred in on it, thinking it's an easy kill, but it turns out Larvesta can know Wild Charge. Manfred, i'm sorry. You had potential for greatness, only to be nipped in the bud like this.

Looks like we will be joined instead by Werner the Wailmer. As i'm training, Not Zubat evolves into Swoobat and Werner evolves into Wailord. I continue training for a while, then it's time to call it a day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Bach (Cinccino) lv 49
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 60
Gortwog (Emboar) lv 59
Not Zubat (Swoobat) lf 49
Abby (Absol) lv 59
Werner (Wailord) lv 50

I probably should stop heading back into Twist Mountain; things go horrible every time i enter that place. This time, i found myself in a triple battle against a Tauros, a Crobat and a Carracosta. The Carracosta went down easily, but the other two put up a major fight. Tauros's Thrash one-shot Abby from full health, and a crit Acrobatics managed to take out Not Zubat before she could fire off a Psychic. The two of them then teamed up on Bach, killing him too. This forced me to send out Gortwog, who of course died to a single Acrobatics. Only Dragonfly and Werner are still alive.

This is really really bad. Some of those guys have been with me for a long time, including my starter Gortwog. Still though, i'll have to rebuild. My new teammates will be Mot the Volcarona, Plat the Stunfisk, Shang the Mienfoo and Beethoven the Minccino. As i'm training them up, Shang evolves into Mienshao. A while later, i decide to use a Shiny Stone on Beethoven, allowing him to become his final form, Cinccino. I keep training for a while, then i decide to call it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Shang (Miehshao) lv 53
Werner (Wailord) lv 61
Mot (Volcarona) lv 35
Dragonfly (Flygon) lv 61
Plat (Stunfisk) lv 57
Beethoven (Cinccino) lv 40

Things were going so well. Not a single fight in the main game cost me more than one pokemon. Yet Twist Mountain has claimed a full team's worth of pokemon. At least all the trainers there are defeated now so i won't have to return to that hell-hole.

With my training finally done, i head back into the region's western mountains, but my destination this time is not Twist Mountain. Instead, i'm heading to check out the tunnels that Clay has dug here since i last visited New York. These tunnels were closed off due to the Twist Mountain cave-in, but now they're open for the public again. Among the mine carts, i find myself a Woobat, so i catch the bugger and name him Not Golbat. However, when i find that this cave in fact ends up in Twist Mountain, i high-tail out of there. Don't want to lose more mons.

Instead, i decide to head towards the White Forest. I fly to Nimbasa and head east across the Marvelous Bridge. As i'm crossing the bridge, the Lunar Wing i found in the odd house on Reversal Mountain starts to glow. It's really annoying, so i just throw the thing out. Not long after, i encounter a wild Swanna flying about the bridge. This Swanna almost ends its own existence with Brave Bird, but i manage to catch it to save it from itself. It shall bear the nickname Joe. In addition to this Swanna, i also get myself another new pokemon: Magikarp. This pokemon has to be imported from far away, yet a guy here was willing to sell it to me for just 500 yen. I name this guy Nemo, then i continue east onto Route 15.

On this cliffside route, i encounter a wild Scrafty, reminding me of my good friend Asshole who tragically passed away. So i of course catch the guy and name him Klootzak. I also visit the research center on this route, where the researchers tell me about their efforts in bringing pokemon here from Kansai - sorry, "Johto". I'd love to bring my old pals over, but when i ask how this is done, they all give me some gobbledygook about a Soul Silver cartridge. So i just head on. However, when i pass through the gates that used to lead to the White Forest, i find none of the lush greenery of years past. All the trees and wildlife have been removed to make way for skyscrapers and concrete. Did we truly need more of this? are ancient forests not valuable to us as a species? Why? Why destroy perfectly good nature for this?

I see no reason to spend time in this concrete hellhole, so i opt to go for a trip down memory lane and head for southeastern New York. I fly to Castelia and make my way across one of the most beautiful bridges i've seen in my life: the Skyarrow Bridge. If you ever visit this region, make sure you don't skip out on this beauty. It's not just the bridge itself that's mesmerizingly beautiful, it's also the view over the ocean below.

Anyway, on the other side of the bridge, i find myself in the dark Pinwheel Forest. This is the kind of landscape i wanted to visit when i headed for White Forest. Glad to see that mother nature is still allowed to do her thing here. As i'm enjoying the greenery though, i run into Cheren, who tells me that Team Plasma has been sighted here. I don't know how that's possible, considering that i disbanded the organization, but there's little harm in looking around. We team up like in years past and scour the forest for them. Along the way, we find a pair of Cottonee, but Cheren kills one of them so i can only catch one. I name it Cotty, and we continue our search. However, as we progress, Cheren and i engage in a tag battle against two veterans. One of them has her Ludicolo use Ice Beam on Dragonfly, killing him in one hit. Rest in peace Dragonfly, you will be dearly missed. You were my last surviving team member from before the Pokemon League, and you did great work into the elite four and champion. Rest in peace. To make matters worse, their Electivire threw a Rock Slide at Mot, which also killed him in one go.

We will be joined by Cloudwing the Altaria and Lumiere the Litwick. However, rather than training these guys up immediately, i opt to call it a day for now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Werner (Wailord) lv 63
Shang (Mienshao) lv 63
Beethoven (Cinccino) lv 62
Plat (Stunfisk) lv 63
Cloudwing (Altaria) lv 55
Lumiere (Litwick) lv 27

Good thing Cheren is willing to heal my pokemon while i train Cloudwing up. I get him up to speed with the other guys, then it's time to continue looking for Team Plasma; Lumiere will have to hold the Exp Share for now. When we reach a clearing, Sage Gorm sneaks up on us from behind to scare us. However, it seems that he has learned from his mistakes in past years and is no longer a Plasma. Guess our search here was for nothing. Cheren gives me an up-grade for my trouble, and we head our separate ways. I clear out the rest of the forest's inner area, then i head over to the forest's outer area, where the foliage is less thick and some sunlight actually comes through the trees. While i am beating up all the trainers here, Lumiere evolves into Lampent, and i immediately use a Dusk Stone to get it to its final stage, the mighty Chandelure.

On the other end of the forest, i make my way into the cozy Nacrene City. The main tourist attraction here is the museum, which no longer serves as a gym nowadays. When i enter, i'm immediately greeted by the former gym leader Lenora, who offers me one of two fossils. I choose the Cover Fossil, which i immediately bring to the counter to have it revived into a Tirtouga. I nickname it Oogway, then i continue my tour through the museum. They have a beautiful dragon statue here; i remember when Team Plasma stole its head for some reason. They also have a replica of the Dark Stone used to revive Zekrom. After i've looked at all the exhibits, i head to the back to catch up with Lenora, and she tells me how she gave up on pokemon battles to pursue her dream of being a museum director. Not the path i'd choose, but if it makes her happy, she should go for it.

Anyway, it's time to continue my journey onto Route 3. On this lakeside grassland, i catch an Audino, who shall be nicknamed Dolores. Not long hereafter, i decide to call it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Werner (Wailord) lv 63
Shang (Mienshao) lv 64
Beethoven (Cinccino) lv 63
Plat (Stunfisk) lv 63
Cloudwing (Altaria) lv 64
Lumiere (Chandelure) lv 46

I make my way through the rest of the route, paying a visit to the Day Care on its eastern end. Apparently they raise Pokemon as well as children, but i can raise my pokemon by myself just fine. Rather than heading on to Striaton though, i opt to pay a visit to Wellspring Cave to honour all the pokemon i lost here years past. Along the way, i catch Johan the Excadrill. I proceed to explore the rest of the cave, stopping for a minute at the place where my team got wiped to reflect on how much i've grown in the past years. Can't stay here forever though, so eventually i decide to leave the cave and head on to Striaton.

Striaton has a nice garden in the western part, perfect for some relaxing. I opt for a swim in the little pond here, when a wild Basculin makes its presence known to me. I try to catch him, but while i'm doing so, he lands a critical hit Thrash on Beethoven, killing my poor guy. Rest in peace Beethoven, you never really carried your weight, but we'll miss you nontheless. I do end up catching the fish, bestowing him the nickname Kutvis.

Our team will be joined by Dolores the Audino. I train her and Lumiere up to a decent level, then i decide to call it a day for now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Lumiere (Chandelure) lv 62
Werner (Wailord) lv 64
Plat (Stunfisk) lv 64
Shang (Mienshao) lv 64
Dolores (Audino) lv 62
Cloudwing (Altaria) lv 65

The gym here in Striaton has been changed into a full-time restaurant, but the gym leaders have not retired fully from battling. When i tell them who i am, they're immediately itching to see how good i've become in battle since i last traversed this region, so i team up with Cilan to take on Chili and Cress in a double battle. I lead with Werner, Cilan leads with Maractus, Chili leads with Heatmor and Cress leads with Basculin. Basculin immediately brings Maractus to the red with an Ice Beam, but Maractus kills Basculin in return with a Petal Dance. Heatmor finishes Maractus off, after which Werner hits a Splash Plate-boosted Surf to kill Heatmor, leaving only Werner standing. Cilan now switches in Ferrothorn, Chili goes for his ace Simisear and Cress sends out his Slowking. I correctly guess that Simisear would kill Ferrothorn with a Flamethrower, allowing me to hit a surf that brings Simisear to the red and deals barely anything to Slowking. Cilan now sends out his last pokemon, his Simisage. I think it's wisdom to switch to Cloudwing though. As i do this, Chili uses a full restore, but Simisage's Rock Slide brings Simisear back to the yellow as Slowking's Flamethrower brings Simisage to low health. Cilan now uses a full restore, but the enemies double up on him and kill his last mon while i bring Simisear to a sliver. I kill the monkey the next turn, but not before he crits me with Crunch. Slowking's following Psychic then leaves Cloudwing with just 12 HP as Chili sends out his last mon, his Darmanitan. I opt to switch back to Werner here, but the enemies hit me with a rock slide and a psychic that bring me to the red. I decide now is the time for a full restore, but they just keep hitting me back to low health. Things are going very very bad. If Werner can't tank their hits, no one can. I see no other option than to make a sacrifice. So, with a heavy heart, i send out Cloudwing, who goes down to a flare blitz. This lets me bring in Shang. Shang's Drain Punch brings Darmanitan into the yellow, but one Flare Blitz brings my losses up to two. The recoil brings him to a sliver though, so i bring Werner back, hoping that he'll use another flare blitz and kill himself. Sure enough, after i heal up, he does just that. Slowking's psychic brings me to the red, but i just heal up again. Now it's a 1v1, but Slowking starts setting up Calm Minds. My only option now is to keep healing and hope i dodge the crits as i waste his psychic PP. I get a special defense drop though, which prompts me to switch to Dolores. However, rather than just attacking Dolores, he sets up Calm Minds until he can one-shot her with a crit Scald. I switch back to Werner hoping that i have correctly intuited that he's out of Psychic PP, which seems to be the case, but his scalds do over half now and i can't one-shot. Looks like i'll have to waste all his Scald PP and hope he doesn't crit me once. This unfortunately does not work, and Werner goes down to a crit. Plat and Lumiere then both get one-shot. Everyone is dead.

This hurts. This really hurts. I never should have gone into this restaurant. But i did, and mow all my friends are dead. Guess i'll have to train up a new team to get my revenge on these former gym leaders. This new squad will consist of Wisp the Litwick, Oogway the Tirtouga, Mulan the Mienfoo, Not Golbat the Woobat , Bambi the Deerling and Johan the Excadrill. While i'm training these guys up, Bambi evolves into Sawsbuck, Oogway into Carracosta and Wisp into Lampent and then into Chandelure through a Dusk Stone. I keep training for a while, then it's time to call it a day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Bambi (Sawsbuck) lv 37
Mulan (Mienfoo) lv 40
Wisp (Chandelure) lv 42
Not Golbat (Woobat) lv 54
Oogway (Carracosta) lv 37
Johan (Excadrill) lv 57

As i continue my training, Mulan evolves into Mienshao. I continue training for a while, then i decide to call it a day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Bambi (Sawsbuck) lv 54
Mulan (Mienshao) lv 54
Wisp (Chandelure) lv 55
Not Golbat (Woobat) lv 54
Oogway (Carracosta) lv 55
Johan (Excadrill) lv 57

I continue training up my mons, which gets Not Golbat to love me enough to evolve into her final form, Swoobat. I continue this training session for quite a while after that, then i once again call it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Not Golbat (Swoobat) lv 58
Bambi (Sawsbuck) lv 59
Wisp (Chandelure) lv 59
Mulan (Mienshao) lv 59
Oogway (Carracosta) lv 59
Johan (Excadrill) lv 58

My training is done for now, but instead of immediately going for vengeance against the gym leader triplets, i instead opt to head east into the Dreamyard. The moment i step into this area though, I am greeted by a Latios. It seems to want me to follow it around, but before i can do so, i run into a wild Munna. I catch the li'l guy, and bestow upon him the nickname DreamWorld. After this catch, i continue looking for the latios, heading into the basement and beating up all the trainers there. In the end though, i lose track of it, so i just leave after beating up every trainer in the area.

I think i'll head on an expedition down south next. I head onto Route 2. As i'm traversing this peaceful grassland, i run into a wild Audino, which i proceed to catch and nickname Mirabel. After this, i proceed on to Accumula town, the place where i first met N, as well as where i first heard of Team Plasma. It feels like only yesterday that Ghetsis gave his speech here in the park on how we should all release our pokemon. There isn't much to do here though besides a trip down memory lane, so i head further south to Route 1. It is on this route that me, Cheren and Bianca first started our journey through New York, so many moons ago. I reminisce on how the professor tried to teach us how to catch a pokemon, and i emulate her by catching a Watchog and naming it Timon. I could go for a swim here, but i opt to continue southward to Nuvema Town, the town where it all started. I pay a visit to Cheren and Bianca's parents, as well as the place i stayed on my first visit to this region.

While i'm here, i opt to also pay a visit to Professor Juniper. She only cares about my pokedex though. She says she has a gift for me for when i complete the dex, but that's not gonna happen lol. Her dad Cedric does have an actual gift for me though: a Super Rod. I should probably check this thing out, but not here. Instead, i fly over to Icirrus City and cast out my rod there. What i land is a Barboach; i will name this little guy Quake God. I then fly to Undella Town to try my rod there too, but i actually run into Remco here, who's itching for a rematch. He leads with Unfezant and i lead with Johan. He hits me with a Swagger, but Jonathan uses his Persim Berry to snap out, and in return he crits the big bird to death. This prompts Remco to switch to Flygon, for which i'm sending out Oogway. A crit Earthquake brings me down to Sturdy, and i respond with an ice gem-boosted Ice Beam for the OHKO. Up next is Simisage, so i go for Wisp. He outspeeds and hits a Crunch for just under half, but i kill him with a Flamethrower in return. Now it's time for Remco's ace. He brings in Samurott and i bring in Bambi. A grass ge-boosted Horn Leech misses out on the OHKO, but so does his Megahorn. Remco full restores, but all that means is that i can recover more health with Horn Leech before he goes down. Now it's time to take on Remco's second last pokemon, his Bouffalant. Mulan comes in and brings him to the red with a Fighting Gem-boosted Drain Punch, but his Head Charge OHKOs her in return, taking out Bouffalant itself in the process. Mulan was also the only pokemon not hit super effectively by Remco's last pokemon, Eelektross, so it's time for some cheesy healing strats. I bring Oogway in and use a Full Restore to restore Sturdy, then i repeatedly heal to get back to Sturdy as he whittles down his own HP with Wild Charge. Eventually, he succumbs to the recoil, and i've won myself a pyrrhic victory. As a sort of compensation for the death of Mulan, he gives me HM06 Dive. Not that i need that.

We will be joined by Quake God the Barboach. Rather than training him up right now though, i opt to call it a day.

As i'm traveling around training Quake God, i run into a breeder in Nacrene City who gives me an egg. It was apparently found by the day care couple. I guess i'll just carry it around while i continue my training. I also make a stop in Castelia City to meet an old acquaintance. Amanita, the creator of this region's pokemon storage system, has an Eevee she needs someone to take care of. The little guy will be called Bububui.

Once my training starts in earnest, Quake God evolves into the cutest, most awesome pokemon of all: Whiscash. I keep training him up when the egg the breeder gave me suddenly starts showing cracks. It hatches into a cute little Happiny, who will be nicknamed Maria. I keep training for a while after this, then when i'm done, i call it a day.

I guess it's time to go check out the Zoroark in Victory Road. I do find it, and it leads me on a chase through the caves. Eventually, we stumble upon the ruins of N's castle, where i actually run into the man himself. He asks that we head to the deepest room in the castle, so that we can have a rematch there. Once we get there, N sends out Kitty the Zekrom; it brings me great joy to see how well he's recovered from the crap Ghetsis pulled in the Giant Chasm. But we're not here for pleasantries; we're here to do battle. I send out Johan against my old friend, and i fire off a soft sand-boosted Earthquake that brings Kitty to the red as he goes for Imprison. N opts to full restore here, but two more earthquakes bring my old friend down.

After the battle, Kitty reverts to her Dark Stone, and N asks me to bring the stone to the Dragonspiral Tower. I'm not so sure that's a good idea though; i've abandoned Kitty in the past, so i'm not sure he'd be glad to be on my team again. So i just return the stone to N and head on my way.

So instead of heading to the dragonspiral tower, i opt for a relaxing swim off the coast of Nuvema Town. However, the currents quickly sweep me away onto Route 17, where i catch myself a Frillish and name it Parhuda. I eventually hit land on Route 18 Island, so i proceed to explore said island. I encounter a Crustle here, but after he gets off a few Shell Smashes, i decide it's probably better to flee than to try and catch it. While i'm exploring the island, i actually run into Crasher Wake, the gym leader from Pastoria City in Hokkaido - sorry, "Sinnoh". He's singing some strange somg, but when i tell him i do not know that song, he somehow thinks i'm kidding. He tells me he's off to Driftveil; good for him i suppose.

After exploring most of the island, i try to make my way back to the mainland, but the currents just wash me ashore on the P2 Laboratory. Here, i actually find Team Plasma's boat docked. Guess they had to leave it somewhere. Don't think i'll go snooping though; the team's no longer a threat so i don't have to invade their property. Instead, i just catch a Watchog outside and name it Aat-Aat. I continue trying to get back to dry land as the currents sweep me away, then i remember i can just use Fly.

I fly to Striaton City for my revenge against the gym leaders. I once again opt to team up with Cilan against Chili and Cress; i lead with Quake God, Cilan leads with Maractus, Chili leads with Heatmor and Cress leads with Basculin. Basculin starts off by swaggering Quake God as Quake God brings it to the yellow, Maractus's Petal Dance crits and brings Heatmor to the yellow too, but Heatmor one-shots Maractus in return. Cilan's second pokemon is his Ferrothorn, who gets Swaggered and Fire Blasted to death as Quake God his itself in confusion. That means Cilan's down to his last mon, his Simisage. Simisage's Rock Slide kills Heatmor, so Chili sends out his Simisear instead as i once again hit myself. This is not going as planned. I opt to bring Not Golbat in as Cress uses a Full Restore and Simisear sets up a Work Up. I then hit a Psychic Gem-boosted Psychic that brings Simisear deep into the yellow, but their combined attacks are enough to take Not Golbat down. Wisp comes in next, but Chili uses a Full Restore. Shadow Ball nontheless brings Simisear over Half as Basculin misses an Aqua Tail. Crunch then brings Wisp to a sliver as Basculin uses Swagger, and Wisp kills itself in confusion. I'd need some extreme luck if i am still to win this. Oogway comes out and Grass Knot takes him to a sliver as Basculin swaggers, but Oogway pulls through and kills the monkey. This brings out Chili's last mon, Darmanitan. I heal Oogway up as Basculin misses an Aqua Tail and Darmanitan crits a Rock Slide, so i decide to heal again. I keep healing as he uses several hammer arms, but eventually i get crit and Oogway goes down. I go for Johan next, who tanks an Aqua Tail and hits back with a Soft Sand-boosted Earthquake to kill Darmanitan. I then switch to Quake God on another Aqua Tail and heal up. He likes to use Double-Edge, so i can just heal off the damage as he kills himself. However, Cress now sends out his ace: Simipour. Scald brings me to the red as earthquake brings him to the yellow, so i heal up again. The next Scald burns me though, so i have no choice but to heal once more. After the next scald doesn't burn, he brings me to the red again as i kill him. This means it's time to once again face off against the beast that killed my whole team last time: Slowking. I switch in Bambi for this task, but he immediately gets hit by a crit Psychic on the switch. Healing's not an option as he'll just bring me down with Flamethrower, so i go for a Horn Leech, that crits and gets the one-shot.

Well, we got our revenge. Half the team is dead, but we got our revenge. I think i'll just call it a day now.

My new teammates will be Bububui the Eevee, Maria the Happiny and Parhuda the Frillish. Before i can commence their training though, i need to find an Oval Stone for Maria to hold. So i head over to Chargestone Cave and find one in the dust much quicker than i expected. So i give Bububui a Fire Stone to evolve him into Flareon, then i start training everyone. During this training, Maria evolves into Chansey and then Blissey, and Parhuda evolves into Jellicent.

I continue training for some time, then it's time to call it a day.

there's supposedly a less than 1% chance per dust cloud to find an Oval Stone, yet i got it in less than 10 attempts
