Damage at Medoncino Farms restaurant in Woodland Hills
In the early morning hours of Thursday, December 11th, at least three people were seen on security cameras breaking through the front door of the Medoncino Farms restaurant in Woodland Hills, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. From there, the thieves broke through a wall in the restaurant to the neighboring Cards & Coffee TCG shop, where they packed up an estimated $30,000 USD worth of Pokémon cards and sports cards before making their escape.

The break-in began at about 5 am, when several suspects shattered the glass door of the restaurant, and lasted only minutes. The details of how exactly the suspects made their way through the wall separating the stores are currently unclear.

Damage at Medoncino Farms restaurant in Woodland Hills A very similar break-in occurred in Burbank, less than 30 minutes from Woodland Hills, last week on December 5th. Several suspects broke through the front door of the LA Sports card shop overnight and made off with an estimated $100,000 USD worth of Pokémon and other cards. Kit Nguyen, owner of LA Sports, says that two of the thieves ransacked an area of collectibles, where they can be seen on security footage breaking open a glass case. “They started with the Pokémon side,” Nguyen stated. “They made a second approach to come back, smash some more glass, grab some more vintage Pokémon packs…They’re in and out, in and out quick.” He’s currently unsure if insurance will cover the loss.

No arrests have yet been made in the Woodland Hills or the Burbank robberies, and LAPD is on the lookout for the suspects.
