Shroodle, and its Evolution, Grafaiai, will make their Pokémon GO debuts during this event, with Shroodle also becoming available to hatch from 12km Eggs. Trainers can evolve Shroodle into Grafaiai using 50 Shroodle Candy.
Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active throughout the Fashion Week: Taken Over event:
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons
- Trainers can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration
- Trainers will be able to receive up to five additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of seven)
- Trainers will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Ho-Oh in Shadow Raids
Collection Challenges
Event-themed Collection Challenges focused on catching Pokémon will be available as part of this event. Trainers completing these Collection Challenges will receive Stardust and an encounter with Trubbish.
Field and Special Research
Free event-themed Field Research is available for this Team GO Rocket Takeover. Trainers completing the Field Research tasks will receive Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs.
Trainers will also have access to a new edition of the recurring Special Research Story involving Team GO Rocket. By completing this Special Research, Trainers can earn a Super Rocket Radar to locate and battle Giovanni, who this time will be taking control of a Shadow Palkia. This Special Research will be available to claim until the end of the current Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny Season on March 4th at 9:59am local time.
Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day Event Ticket
Trainers will be able to purchase an event-exclusive ticket for the Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day for US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), granting the following additional bonuses between 2:00pm and 10:00pm local time on Sunday January 19th:
- Trainers will be able to receive eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 15)
- Increased chance for Trainers to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
- 50% more XP will be received from Raid Battles
- 2× Stardust will be received from Raid Battles
Event Bundles in the in-game shop and Web Store
A Team GO Rocket Box will be available for purchase from the in-game shop during this event for 300 Pokécoins. This box will come with 1 Incubator, 1 Rocket Radar, and 1 Premium Battle Pass.
Additionally, the Pokémon GO Web Store will be offering a Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). The box includes both an event ticket, and a bonus Premium Battle Pass.

Trainers taking a snapshot during the event period may have surprise encounters with Croagunk wearing a fashion week costume.
