Pokémon GO to discontinue support on 32-bit Android devices beginning in March

Niantic has announced that they will be ending support for Pokémon GO on 32-bit Android devices to streamline their development process and focus resources on supporting newer operating systems and technologies.

Players who downloaded Pokémon GO from the Samsung Galaxy Store will no longer be able to access Pokémon GO from their device in phases starting in March, while support for players who downloaded Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store will continue until June 2025.

After these updates go live, Trainers using affected devices will no longer be able to access their Pokémon GO accounts (including their PokéCoins and items) from those devices. Some popular examples of 32-bit Android devices include:
  • Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, J3
  • Sony Xperia Z2, Z3
  • Motorola Moto G (1st generation)
  • LG Fortune, Tribute
  • OnePlus One
  • HTC One (M8)
  • ZTE Overture 3
  • Certain Android devices released before 2015
Players can continue playing Pokémon GO by switching to a compatible 64-bit Android device, or an iOS device.
