As previewed in the letter from the game's producers earlier this week, Elio, the Pokémon Trainer from Alola, debuts their new Sync Pair with Stakataka today in Pokémon Masters EX, alongside the new Ultra Beast Meet-and-Greet Story Event. The game's app logo has also received a makeover, featuring Elio's female counterpart Selene.

Story Event: Ultra Beast Meet-and-Greet
In this new story event, Elio and Selene arrange an event to try and help foster better relations between people and Ultra Beasts, but things don't go according to plan. This event is available in-game now, and will continue until August 18th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

As previewed in last month's update from the developers, this event will feature an altered, simplified format, where players will collect Event Points as they complete battles, earning rewards based on the total amount of event points acquired instead of trading for specific desired rewards. Featured event rewards include 5★ Scout Tickets, Skill Items, a Strike Move Candy Coin, 5★ Power-Ups, and Event Medals. Other rewards able to be obtained include Special Skill Feathers 42 and 43, and custom Sync Orbs and Lucky Cookies for Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka, and Selene (alt.) & Nihilego.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka, Akari & Samurott, and Rei & Decidueye would grant a combined +140% (×2.4) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • All Event Points collected during this event will be automatically deleted once the event is over.
Log-in Bonus
The Ultra Beast Meet-and-Greet event includes a log-in bonus over 14 days. Players can receive these bonuses up until August 16th, at 10:59pm (PDT), so even if you're a couple of days late starting the event you'll still have the chance to receive all of the available gifts.

  • Day 2: Gems ×100
  • Day 3: Gems ×100
  • Day 4: Gems ×100

Elio (Alt.) Poké Fair Scout

Elio debuts their new Sync Pair with Stakataka in this limited-time Poké Fair Scout alongside the launch of the Ultra Beast Meet-and-Greet Story Event. This scout is available in-game now, and will run through to August 25th at 10:59pm (PDT). As normal for Poké Fair Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 10% chance of appearing in this scout. This Poké Fair Scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

Players will also receive 4× Sprint Roll Cake Coin and 4× 5★ Power-Ups each time they pair up with Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka through this scout, up to a maximum of 5 times.

This Fair-Exclusive Rock-type Support Role Sync Pair are being released with an expanded sync grid, the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a Sprint EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. Raising the pair to 6★ EX also unlocks an alternative outfit for Elio based on Stakataka's palette.

Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka are focused on providing a solid wall to protect the rest of their party, with their Passive Skill buffing their Defense and Sp. Def by a full six stat ranks the first time they use a Trainer move each battle. If that wasn't hard enough, their Alola Solidarity Trainer move increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next effect and Special Moves ↑ Next effect of all allied sync pairs by one rank., as well as apply an Alola Circle (Defensive) Field Effect. This Field Effect powers up the special attack and sync moves of the player's team by 5%, while reducing all attack move and Sync Move damage received by allies (from both physical and special moves) by 10%. These values are boosted when the team includes additional Sync Pairs with the Alola Theme skill, up to a maximum of 20% power-up and 25% damage reduction. This effect is further boosted by another one of Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka's Passive Skills, which buffs all allies Attack and St. Attk by one stat rank whenever Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka activate a Field Effect. As if this didn't already make them a solid and hardy defender, their Ultra Endurance! Trainer Move restores all allies HP by approximately 20%, as well as applying the Gradual Healing effect to the entire party.

72 Hours Only! Champion Stadium Hard Level Celebration Scout

This special Sync Pair Scout, featuring the more than 70 Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs released up to June 15th this year, is now available. Players who have already unlocked Hard Lv. 1 in the Champion Stadium will have access to the scout for 72 hours from the first time they log in from today, while other players will be able to unlock this scout for 72 hours when they first complete the Champion Stadium on Normal and unlock Hard Lv. 1 difficulty.

As normal for Poké Fair Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 10% chance of appearing in this scout. This Poké Fair Scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire period the scout is available.
