Don't miss this Sunday's Community Day event in Pokémon GO, featuring Karrablast and Shelmet

The Bug-type duo of Karrablast and Shelmet are the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's February 2025 Community Day, which will be held this Sunday, February 9th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time. During this event, Karrablast and Shelmet will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with their Shiny variant.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active throughout the event:
  • 3× XP for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
  • Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Trainers can receive an in-game surprise by taking a few snapshots during Community Day
The following additional event bonuses will be active from 2:00pm to 10:00pm local time:
  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
Additionally, Trainers will be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop. PokéStop Showcases will also be running throughout the event period at different PokéStops.

Featured Attack and Attack Availability Updates
Both Karrablast and Shelmet will learn special Attacks when evolved from the beginning of the event until February 16th, at 10:00pm local time.
  • Karrablast that are evolved into Escavalier will learn the Charged Attack Razor Shell. This Attack has 35 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gyms and raids.
  • Shelmet that are evolved into Accelgor will learn the Charged Attack Energy Ball. This Attack has 90 power in Trainer Battles and 90 power in Gyms and raids.
Paid Special Research
A Community Day-exclusive Special Research will be available for purchase for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). Trainers who complete this research will earn two encounters each with Karrablast and Shelmet with Dual Destiny-themed Special Backgrounds, additional encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. This Special Research can also be gifted to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

Free Field and Timed Research
Free Community Day-themed Field Research Research will be available. Amongst other rewards, trainers completing this Research will be able to earn additional encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet, as well as Stardust, and Great Balls. Lucky Trainers may even catch both featured Pokémon with Dual Destiny-themed Special Backgrounds.

Additionally, trainers that log in during the February 2025 Community Day will receive Timed Research awarding one encounter each with Karrablast and Shelmet that have a Dual Destiny-themed Special Background. These Pokémon will have an increased chance to be Shiny. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before February 16th, at 10:00pm local time.

Event Bundles in the in-game shop and Web Store
Two different bundles will be available from the in-game shop during this event. The first bundle, which costs 1,350 PokéCoins, includes 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Super Incubators, 1 Elite Charged TM, and 5 Lucky Eggs. The second bundle, costing 480 PokéCoins, includes 30 Ultra Balls, 1 Incense, 3 Super Incubators, and 1 Lure Module.

Additionally, the Pokémon GO Web Store will be offering its own special bundle for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). This bundle includes 10 Ultra Balls, 1 Elite Charged TM, and a Special Research ticket.
