A new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet recently released by The Pokémon Company International on the official Pokémon YouTube channel revealed several new features, a new Pokémon that evolved from an existing Pokémon, and two new Abilities. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will launch on November 18th on the Nintendo Switch system.

Farigiraf
Farigiraf.pngGirafarig, a Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver will now be available to evolve into a new Pokémon called Farigiraf.

Pokémon: Farigiraf
Category: Long Neck Pokémon
Type: Normal/Psychic
Height: 10'6" (3.2 m)
Weight: 352.7 lbs. (160 kg)
Ability: Cud Chew / Armor Tail

As a result of its evolution, the head of its main body and the head from its tail have become one. Both of Farigiraf's brains are connected through thick nerves, increasing its psychic energy, and it can emit psychic waves from the antennae on its head. Farigiraf is always mindful of its surroundings, and while it can detect danger in an instant, there are times when its body cannot react as fast as its two brains can think.

Farigiraf's Ability, Cud Chew, is a new Ability introduced in these games. When a Pokémon with Cud Chew eats a Berry, it will eat it one more time at the end of the next turn. Armor Tail is another new Ability. It makes opposing Pokémon unable to use priority moves.

TM Machine

A Technical Machine (or TM for short) is a tool that allows Pokémon to learn new moves, a single TM can only be used once. A new feature at every Pokémon Center called a TM Machine will be available for Trainers to make their own TMs. Using League Points (LP) and materials dropped by wild Pokémon after battle, players can make new TMs. LP can be obtained as players advance the story or by trading in materials from Pokémon.

Picnics
Picnics is a feature similar to the Pokémon Camp in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Trainers can have picnics almost anywhere when out exploring the region's vast wildernesses, along with the ability to change the designs of the tablecloth, cups, water bottles, and other picnic items to create an arrangement of their liking. Pokémon in the party will appear during picnics.

Sandwiches.jpg
Trainers can make sandwiches by choosing the fillings and condiments they’ll want to use, as well as a sandwich pick that’ll help hold it all together. They will then arrange the ingredients on the bread, stacking them carefully. If not balanced properly, it might accidentally cause the ingredients to topple over or fall off the bread entirely. When Pokémon eat sandwiches, not only will their HP be restored, but the meal may impart some effects that will come in handy on adventures. A Pokémon Egg may also be found during picnics. Picnics can also be enjoyed with friends by using the Union Circle. They just need to simply approach another player's picnic while playing together with friends to join.

Trainers can clean their Pokémon during picnics. When a Pokémon walks alongside the player or battles, it can get grimy and dirty, such as being covered in mud from the roadsides, snow from snowstorms and sand from sandstorms and from taking damage in battles. By washing Pokémon at a picnic, they will get clean, and may also have their HP will be restored and their bond with their Trainer will become stronger.

Profile app

With the profile app, Trainers can view what they have achieved during their adventures, such as the number of badges already received, number of Pokémon registered to the Pokédex, the number of sandwich recipes discovered, see the Pokémon they're currently traveling with, and taking a profile picture for their Adventure Records.

Other information
All Pokémon in Paldea are able to Terastallize into all the 18 types available. Trainers may encounter Wild Terastallized Pokémon in the wild. During a Tera Raid Battle, when a Pokémon faints, it will recover its health after a while and rejoin the battle.
