The Pokémon Company has announced the latest additions to Pokémon Dolls, a plush line that features all kinds of Pokémon in a cute, rounded style with big heads. The new drop includes four Dragon-type Pokémon, which will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan on April 19th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on April 17th.
Lone thief steals $25,000 USD worth of Pokémon cards from newly-opened TCG shop in Iowa

Shortly after closing on Sunday, April 6th, TCG Planet in Perry, Iowa was broken into and robbed of approximately $25,000 to $40,000 USD worth of Pokémon Trading Card Game products by a yet-unknown suspect. The burglar gained access to the store, which was only newly opened in January of this year, by breaking through two backdoors. He then ripped the security cameras down from the walls and made off with nearly all the Pokémon cards on the property.
Pokémon Center Fukuoka to close and relocate, reopening scheduled for Summer 2025

The Pokémon Company has announced today that the Pokémon Center location in Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan will be closing on May 12th in order to relocate to its new spot. The store will move from its current location in the Amu Plaza of the Hakata Subway Station, and reopen in the nearby Hakata Murui mall. Pokémon Center Fukuoka is currently scheduled to reopen this summer.

There are several Pokémon motifs available that carry across different products, so players can have a themed TCG product set. Nine new play mats are available for $24.99 USD each, with the exclusion of the die-cut Fidough and Dachsbun play mat, which retails for $29.99 USD.

The Pokémon Company has announced a variety of Pokémon hand puppets and finger puppets coming to Pokémon Centers in Japan beginning April 5th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on April 3rd. The Pokémon Company has announced that the next merch collection coming to Pokémon Centers will be “Pokémon Sento,” themed after onsen and public baths in Japan. The collection is partially in collaboration with Kerorin, a Japanese medicine brand that advertises on onsen products, particularly its iconic yellow bucket. Pokémon Local Acts has announced that there will be seven new Poké Lids featuring Oshawott installed in Mie Prefecture in the coming weeks. With the addition of these seven, all of the twenty-nine cities and towns in the prefecture will have their own Poké Lid. Poké Lids are donations from The Pokémon Company to prefectures, and along with events and merchandise hosted by Pokémon Local Acts, are intended to encourage tourism to various areas of Japan.

The Pokémon Company has announced a couple unusual additions to their plush collections, which will be coming to Pokémon Centers across Japan. The first to arrive will be a couple of Pikachu designed to be gifts, which will arrive in stores on March 8th and at the Pokémon Center Online sometime after the website’s redevelopment is complete. The next to arrive will be a new drop of four plushes being added to the Brrr... Squish! plush series, which will be available in store on March 15th and at the Pokémon Center Online on March 14th.

The Pokémon Company has announced a new wave of items coming to their Pokémon Accessory line, which will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan on March 8th. The Pokémon Center Online does not have a date announced for when the new accessories will be available, but they are confirmed for release on the website sometime after its redevelopment is finalized. The majority of this drop consists of earrings, which all come as clip-ons or for pierced ears, and there will also be some new hair accessories available.
Dragonite-themed train derailed by boulder in Fukui Prefecture in Japan, no major injuries reported

In the early morning of March 2nd, a passenger train themed after Dragonite, which was traveling on the Katsuyama-Eiheiji Line in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, collided with a 2 meter wide boulder laying near the tracks. Fortunately, the two passengers on board the lead train car sustained no injuries, and the conductor suffered only a minor injury to his knee. The train was derailed with a broken window and damage to the exterior.
