Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021 announced; event to run from November 26, 2021 to February 13, 2022 across 9 Asian countries

ESL SEA Pte. Ltd. and Pokémon Asia have announced the Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021, the very first event in Asia featuring tournaments, exhibition matches, and special shows across multiple Pokémon titles. The event will include tournaments for games including Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE and the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Each tournament will feature players from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. The festival will be held on weekends from November 26, 2021 to February 13, 2022.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Live release delayed until 2022

The official Pokémon TCG Twitter account has announced that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live app, which was due to have a mobile soft launch in Canada, and global open beta for desktop later this year, has been pushed back to 2022 to provide a more polished experience.

Code cards with the Pokémon TCG Live branding have already been distributed in some Pokémon TCG products. Despite the branding, these code cards are still redeemable in Pokémon TCG Online, however players might want to hold on to them anyway to avoid any potential issues with transferring over their collections.

Play! Pokémon to return in 2022. Dates for Regional Championships, International Championships, and Special Events for the 2022 season announced.

The Pokémon Company International have announced that Play! Pokémon Premier Events will be resuming in North America and Europe from March 2022. Dates for Regional and International Championships across North America and Europe were also announced. The Play! Pokémon 2022 Championship Series season, leading to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships planned to take place in London in August 2022, will include four different Pokémon products: the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video games, Pokkén Tournament DX, and for the first time, Pokémon GO in partnership with Niantic.

It will be a free-to-play game and marks the first time that the Pokémon TCG will be playable on smartphones, in addition to tablets, PCs, and Macs. 25th Anniversary Happy Meals officially available in Australia from September 9 - Scalpers already ruining it for everyone

Despite being unveiled as "coming soon" all the way back in July, the 25th Anniversary Happy Meals haven't yet been released in McDonalds stores in Australia. The Pokémon Company International has announced the Draft the World Pokémon TCG Tournament, an event spotlighting some of the best players in the world, and showcasing the best decks from the 2014–2019 Pokémon World Championships.
